Abuse means:

Self-neglect means significant danger to an individual’s physical or mental health because the individual is responsible for his or her own care but fails to obtain adequate care.

Neglect is the failure of a caregiver to maintain adequate care for the adult-at-risk.

Financial Exploitation is when money or possessions are taken or someone is being forced into signing documents.

Unreasonable Confinement or Restraint

Treatment without Consent

Sexual Abuse is being touched inappropriately or forced to perform or watch sexual acts

Emotional Abuse is when someone is isolated from family or friends, verbally assaulted, threatened, harrased, treated like an infant, or given the silent treatment.

Physical Abuse is being shoved, shaken, drugged, starved, hit, kicked, or physically hurt.

Remember!
Hurting someone is never a sign of caring.
There are many types of abuse.
Most abusers are spouses, children, or other relatives.
Everyone deserves a safe environment.
