The Highway Department will furnish the the necessary equipment provided by the State and County for their respective roads. Signs, vests, garbage bags, and safety signs while clean up is in session are provided. It is asked that an adopted section of a road be cleaned up a minimum of three times per year. The State and County application form is available for you to complete, however it is strongly recommended that you contact this office first to see which sections of roads are available.
White Arrow Board (WAB) signs - Vilas County allows white arrow board directional signs within the highway right-of-way limits of a county trunk road with the issuance of a permit. The sign dimensions mirror the State's requirements to maintain consistancy throughout the County. The State of Wisconsin allows WAB signs within the highway right of way limits of state roads with restrictions noted in the State WAB Sign Policy.
Tourist Oriented Directional Signs (TODS) - Tourist Oriented Directional signs are only allowed within the highway right of way limits of State roads.
