The Corporation Counsel is the primary legal and administrative counsel for the County Board, its committees, and all County departments. The Corporation Counsel advises and represents the County in all civil, administrative, and regulatory matters. This includes prosecuting zoning ordinance and various other civil ordinance violations, as well as representing the public in court on child protection cases, guardianships, and involuntary mental, drug, and alcohol commitments. The Corporation Counsel also drafts and reviews County contracts, policies, procedures, ordinances, resolutions, and a wide variety of other documents.
